Devington Park has won the Silver Gilt prize as UK runner-up in the Best Landscaped Rural Development category of the 2005 New Homes Garden Awards.

The prize – an inscribed glass shard – was reward for Devington Homes’ transformation of the former Exevale Hospital in what has amounted to its flagship development of the past decade. It was presented at a glittering awards ceremony hosted by comedian Bobby Davro at London’s Intercontinental Hotel.

The 2005 New Homes Garden Awards were sponsored by the Daily Express and supported by the National Housebuilders Federation, the Landscape Institute, Garden Design Journal, New Homes Marketing Board and the Society of Garden Designers.

The awards scheme recognises, rewards “and generally worships” housebuilders who respond to the lifestyle aspirations of their purchasers and make outside space a significant part of the new home experience.
